In addition to visiting Recycle Bookstore whenever I’m in my hometown in Northern California, I always make sure to spend at least a day at my favorite beach, Capitola-by-the-Sea. I’ve been to beaches all over the world, but Capitola will always be the one I hold dearest. Even when it’s grey out, it’s still a charming place to be.
It’s been the beach I’ve been going to since I was a baby, and I have the pictures to prove it!
Unfortunately, the weather during my visit this time around has been really grim, but it stopped raining long enough for me to have one relaxing afternoon reading on my favorite beach.
I miss this beach so much when I’m in the UK. Don’t get me wrong, the coastlines in the UK are beautiful, especially the rugged ones up in the northeast where I live. But the sights, smells, and sounds of Capitola are hard to beat.
Capitola always brings so many warm feelings and memories back within moments of me getting there. Even though it’s not where I grew up, this beach feels like home.
It’s also a pretty place to get some quality reading time in!
Reading on the beach is one of my favorite pastimes so I’m glad I was able to get at least a couple of hours in on this trip.
