Hey everyone. I’m back in the UK now and finally out of my 2 week quarantine. It was a really weird period of time- it’s probably how most people felt when the coronavirus lockdowns were first being put in place.
My husband and I already worked from home and had most things delivered so the initial lockdowns didn’t affect our lives too much. Even though we weren’t going out, I found so many things for us to do to keep us busy ranging from online lectures from our favourite museums to Drag Queen Bingo on Zoom and online Murder Mysteries. We were the lucky ones who didn’t really feel the blow that coronavirus had dealt to so many others.
This quarantine I had to go through, though… I couldn’t bring myself to really do much because the events of the last few months finally started to hit me. My husband was busy working and I’m still on hiatus so all I really did was watch TV and putter around the house. The weather was too awful for me to spend much time outside. Days ran into each other and I just felt like an aimless blob. It was only two weeks but it felt like a month.
On the plus side, I finally started reading again!
I tried reading some of the books that have been languishing on my TBR pile, but I found I was struggling to concentrate on them. That’s when I started trying to read books from series that had familiar characters like the Bones series by Kathy Reichs. I ended up blowing through 3 books in as many days and began to feel like I was back on a long overdue reading roll.
To keep myself from getting too overwhelmed, I picked up a couple of middle grade/YA books I had lying around and found myself once again getting lost in the magical world of stories. That led me to buying a few more books for younger readers after looking on Goodreads for recommendations. I even began to revist an old favourite, the Animorphs series by K.A. Applegate.
I’d love to tell you more about the books I’m reading and show you some cover photos, but this is my first time trying the new WordPress editor and I’m having a whale of a time trying to navigate it. How are you all finding it?

That’s it from me for now, but once I figure out my way around this new editor watch out! Because this little nerd is back and hopeful that you all will start following my posts again. Thanks so much for the support you sent my way over the past few months. It meant more than you could ever know.
