This week’s Top Ten Tuesday, hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl, has been one of my favorite topics to date. I had so much fun with this one! It was pretty difficult to just pick ten, though, as there are countless books out there with awesome titles that would be just as awesome as band names.
For my TTT I opted to go with the more badass sounding ones rather than the relatively silly ones that came to mind. I couldn’t just let the ridiculous names go to waste, however, so at the bottom of my post you’ll find a special shout out to the more outrageous titles I thought of.
Happy TTT!
Something Wicked This Way Comes
Taken from Macbeth, this isn’t the only line from Shakespeare that would be a phenomenal book title/band name.
Slaughterhouse-Five
I have a feeling this one will be on a lot of lists this week.
Flowers for Algernon
Altered Carbon
The Sound and the Fury
Even the cover of the book would make fantastic album art.
A Clockwork Orange
Wishful Drinking
Wouldn’t this one be perfect for an Irish punk band?
A Wrinkle in Time
Ninefox Gambit
The Grapes of Wrath
Special Shout Out
I decided to focus on more profound sounding names for my TTT but I did think of several hilarious book titles that would be great band names too:
- Everything Was Fine Until Whatever by Chelsea Martin
- Knitting with Dog Hair by Kendall Croulius and Anne Montgomery
- White Trash Zombie Apocalypse by Diana Rowland
- Electric Jesus Corpse by Carlton Mellick III
- Rats Saw God by Rob Thomas
- Lullabies for Little Criminals by Heather O’Neill
- Dead Bitch Army by Andrew Duza
- The Hollow Chocolate Bunnies of the Apocalypse by Robert Rankin
Which book titles made it to your TTT this week? Any that I missed? Let me know in the comments!
Great list! Slaughterhouse-Five would be such a good band name, but I think I’d much rather listen to Knitting with Dog Hair. 😂

Something Wicked This Way Comes is a great, if slightly lengthy band name! I love Wishful Drinking, that’s a brilliant name for a band.

Definitely! It’s a great book title, too. I have it but haven’t read it yet.

I could definitely see Something Wicked This Way Comes working well for a technical death metal band or even a progressive metal band in general.

That was kind of why I went with the angstier names, we need some raging against machines!

Yeah I love it! Sounds like a band name from the early 2000’s.

White Trash Zombie Apocalypse is a super fun band name. It would probably be a little too hard core for my musical tastes, but still …
Happy TTT!

Yeah I have images of Slipknot/Kitty in my head with that one but I still love it. Trailer Park metal might be a genre we all didn’t know we needed!
